10am – Pick up from your hotel.
10:45am – Arrival at Akҫapınar village and the original eucalyptus lined road into Marmaris.
11:15am – Arrival at the Carian rock tombs of Akyaka. This is a chance to get up close and personal with these ancient tombs.
11:30am – Arrival at an Ottoman Cistern, a fine example of local Muslim tradition and the more modern history of Akyaka.
11:45am – Tea/Coffee break. We stop at a picturesque cafe on the edge of the river. There is an opportunity to shop for organic local produce in the Olive Farm shop or simply sit and relax on the water’s edge.
12:15pm – Departure for Akyaka Village.
12:30pm – Lunch time. Lunch consists of a mixed plate of traditional Turkish food. There is a choice of several dishes that you are welcome to mix and match. Choices range from sautéed chicken or liver to pasta, olive oil or yoghurt dishes. There is something for everyone and vegetarians/vegans are well catered for.
1:15pm - We take a short stroll down to the point where the river meets the sea and board our small boat. We then set off upstream with a chance to see fresh water fish, terrapins, black and white kingfishers, moor hens, geese and more.
1:45pm - Arrival back at the beach in Akyaka and free time in the village.
3:15pm – Departure time for Marmaris, stopping at a panoramic point for pictures.
4pm – Arrival back at your hotel.
